Getting on the Board

Sep 16, 2009

I worked with Margaret for several days teaching her to get on the board when it was on the living room rug. This video shows some of her attempts to get on the board while it was sitting on a hard surface where it can easily move.

I am trying to teach my three and a half month old bulldog Bertha to skaeborad. We are on day two, still trying to get her to stop barking at it…. doing ok by feeding her treats on it. Your blog was helpful in providing some detail on what to do. How is Margaret doing? Is she skateboarding on her own? She looks like a bigger version of Bertha!

As we live in Canada, the ground is snow covered now. Margaret can get on the board easily by herself but we have not been able to get her outside to work on propelling herself. I can pull her around by a rope tied to the board front trucks.

Send me a pix rich@richhelms.ca of Bertha

I would love to put a post up on her. You could add comments as she learns.

We started Margaret when she was over 1 year old. You are starting her young. She will really bond with the board.
